This architectural project aims to transform the Saône riverbanks into a functional and welcoming space dedicated to ticket sales, passenger waiting, and boarding. By leveraging the site’s rich topography, the design seamlessly integrates the different levels: the water, the quays, and the road elevated about five meters above.
Inspired by Sou Fujimoto’s construction system, the structure stands out for its simplicity and elegance. The chosen materials enhance visual lightness and durability, staying true to the minimalist spirit of the Japanese master.
The project’s centerpiece is a bold terrace extending over the Saône, offering a unique vantage point over the river and the city. This multifunctional space, serving both as a waiting area and a place for contemplation, interacts with the proportions and linear dynamic of the quays. The overall design creates a fluid dialogue between architecture and landscape, where height and length combine to enrich the user experience.
